Your Friday night plans should include live music at The Bend

West Bend, WI – Many in the community are familiar with the iconic WEST BEND sign that shines above downtown West Bend, but not everyone knows there is a non-profit group that has restored historical theater and makes space much more than a film theater.

The Historic West Bend Theater, Inc. (HWBT, 501 (c) 3), also known as Turn, is a place of experience that now hosts live music, comedy, theater and, of course, movies.

Okey Dokey the turn

The organization will bring live original music to West Bend this Friday, October 22 with Nashville artists Okey Dokey and the Gatlin party. These independent musicians range from spongy funk to inflated folk rock, to cosmic orchestral pop and everywhere in between. Their latest record features contributions from Dave Harrington (Darkside), Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and members of My Morning Jacket and the Shins. The Gatlin opening act gives us some serious Taylor Swift vibes. So all in all you are having an amazing night of music for just $ 10.

Then, on Friday October 29, Ben Harold & The Rising and Zach Pietrini (with McKenna Bray) will take to the historic stage of The Bend. Ben and Zach were both among the first artists from Wisconsin to bring their sounds to West Bend during the ‘limited capacity’ days of 2020. Both are bringing their full bands (and a very special guest at McKenna Bray) this time to an incredible music double dip inside The Bend.

To really get into the spirit of Halloween, it will be a COSTUME CONCERT. Costumes are encouraged and The Bend will award prizes for the best costumes.

Two back-to-back Fridays of original music in downtown West Bend are pretty impressive and The Bend does a great job of putting West Bend on the map as a music destination.
