The Hub City barbecue is back and open to the public

Listen to the audio below to learn more about the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Town BBQ.

Get ready to pull out a big towel, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for the Hub City BBQ, and this year the public can attend again! The Hub City BBQ will take place on Thursday, October 14 at the South Plains Fairgrounds.

The Hub City BBQ is one of my favorite events hosted by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. There is live music, drinks and of course a barbecue. If you’ve never been to the Hub City BBQ before, you’re really missing out on a great time and great competition.

Each year, member companies of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce compete to find out which team is best in different barbecue categories. Cooking and judging takes place during the day, then from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the gates to the South Plains Fairgrounds are open, where citizens who have purchased tickets can come in and taste the different teams. There will be live music and drinks, for adults and non-adults.

Amy Marquez from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce joined the Chad Hasty Show with Matt Martin on Friday to promote the Hub City BBQ. Due to last year’s pandemic, the public were unable to attend the Hub City BBQ, but that will change this year. There will also be another change. No tickets will be sold at the door.

You can purchase tickets in person before the Hub City BBQ at the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce or on their website.
