OCTOBER 13, 2021 – The Roadrunners are having the best start in program history, and they look to stretch their record to 7-0 this weekend when they face the Rice Owls in this year’s Homecoming game. The showdown will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 16 at the Alamodome.
UTSA remain undefeated after an exciting 52-46 road win over Western Kentucky last Saturday. The Roadrunners’ effort was led by the quarterback Franck harris, who had six touchdowns and even caught a touchdown pass in the game to win the American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. Meanwhile, Rice has a 2-3 record but has won victories over Texas Southern and Southern Miss in her last two contests.
The college is celebrating Homecoming all week long with events and activities leading up to Saturday’s game. This includes voting for the Spirit of the Roadrunner Award, which recognizes students who embody the spirit of UTSA while striving to achieve the highest levels of academic achievement, campus involvement, and service. community. The winners of the Spirit of the Roadrunner will be announced during the Homecoming game.

Wednesday game week

Join the Rowdy Crew, UTSA’s own student-minded organization, for Game Week Wednesday. Learn how to be a part of the full game day experience for a chance to win Rowdy Crew merchandise to wear at the Alamodome for Saturday’s game. It’s a Game Week Wednesday that you won’t want to miss. UTSA Football Coach Jeff Traylor will hand out Taco Palenque tacos from 11am to noon, then UTSA Soccer will prepare Roadrunner fans for their Thursday night game with a “special challenge” from noon to 1pm
The Jeff Traylor radio show

Fans are welcome to join Traylor and host Andy everett weekly for a 1 hour radio show at the Sand Box, within walking distance of UTSA’s main campus. All shows will be broadcast live in the San Antonio area on Ticket 760 AM or online at goUTSA.com and Ticket760.com. Blitz back home

Join UTSA student activities for the Homecoming Blitz and get ready for Saturday’s game. Enjoy the food and activities at this lively event at the downtown campus. In the event of bad weather, the event will pivot to the Buena Vista meeting room (BV 1.338).
Homecoming Soccer Game vs. Louisiana Tech

UTSA Soccer got off to a flying start with a 7-4-1 record. Watch the Roadrunners claim their eighth victory as they take on Louisiana Tech on Thursday night. Parking is available at the Park West Athletic Complex and entry to the game is free for everyone.
UTSA Spirit Day

UTSA Alumni Association Roadrunner Nation Tailgate
2 p.m., Saturday, The Espee (formerly Sunset Station), 1174 E. Commerce St.
The UTSA Alumni Association invites fans to the official Roadrunner Nation hatchback for fun with prizes, food and an open bar. RSVP with your pre-game Alumni Association membership to get free entrance to the tailgate. Not a member? Friends of UTSA can either purchase a membership for free entry or pay $ 20 at the door. Be sure to bring your digital membership card for quick and easy admission through the tailgate. Purchase your tailgate tickets or membership on the UTSA Alumni Association website.
2:45 p.m., Saturday, Alamodome, Roadrunner Alley (between lots B and C)
It is an exciting tradition for the fans to motivate the team for the game. Join the Spirit of San Antonio Marching Band and UTSA teams as they accompany the team through Roadrunner Alley and the Alamodome two hours before each home game. Fans can line the walkway between Alamodome B and C parking lots to cheer on the team.
UTSA student interior tailgate
3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., Saturday, Alamodome, Hall of Fame Club (north end of Club Level)
The UTSA Student Indoor Tailgate is the new gathering place for students inside the Alamodome on game day. Free food and drinks will be available (while stocks last). Door prizes include coupons and UTSA clothing.

Current UTSA students receive free entry to all home games by downloading tickets through their Account Manager. Students can also purchase up to four guest tickets at $ 12 each in advance or $ 13 at the Alamodome box office.
For walk-in sales, the Alamodome Southwest box office will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday. All other Alamodome ticket offices will open at 2:30 pm Customer service desks are located at the Northeast and Southeast counters.
Parking and tailgating on game day
Tailgating is back in the Alamodome parking lots this season. Lots A, B and C will open at 10:30 am for those with valid parking passes. Make not enter the front lots or the Alamodome staff will ask you to free your place (s) and re-enter once the lots are open. A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
Paid parking is available in the parking lot next to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center at the corner of Montana Street and Tower of the Americas Way. UTSA students, faculty and staff can park in all unmarked spaces with a valid UTSA parking permit on Saturdays on the downtown campus under IH-35.

Getting to the game
Students and their guests can park at the main UTSA campus and take a UTSA shuttle to the game at the North Paseo Bus Oval, just outside the North Paseo building. The shuttles will start to serve the Alamodome at 2 p.m. The last shuttle will leave campus at 4:30 pm Students will be dropped off and picked up at the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome.
UTSA shuttles will leave the Alamodome and return to the main campus at the start of the fourth quarter. The last shuttle will depart from the Robert Thompson Transport Station to the Alamodome one hour after the game ends.
VIA has announced that it will now serve UTSA home football matches. VIA’s 93 IH-10 Crossroads / UTSA Express route will serve the Main Campus, University Park and Ride and Crossroads Park and Ride to the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome. VIA will provide a return service after each game. The route will be on its normal Saturday schedule. UTSA students can use their U-Pass to travel on Route 93 for free.
Need UTSA equipment?
Fans can shop for the latest UTSA clothing and accessories at the Rowdy Campus Store, which will be set up in Lot C near Roadrunner Alley. Merchandise counters are also located inside the Alamodome in the Plaza and Club Level Lobbies.
Masks are strongly encouraged for all visitors and staff inside the Alamodome. Anyone with COVID-like symptoms is encouraged to refrain from attending.
To encourage physical distancing and minimize larger crowds in the main entrances to the halls, a gate plan was created to diffuse the crowds in the various entrances to the Alamodome. Unvaccinated guests are required to practice physical distancing, including staying at least six feet from other groups of people not traveling with them while standing in line and avoiding elevators.
Fans should also be aware of the Alamodome Clear Bag Policy, including a list of approved bags.
The doors of the Alamodome will open to the public 90 minutes before kickoff. Fans are encouraged to sit 15 minutes before kick-off for the pre-game on-field festivities, featuring the Spirit of San Antonio Marching Band.

The contest will be broadcast live on Ticket 760 AM in the San Antonio area and on SiriusXM app channel 984. Everett (play-by-play), Jay riley (analyst) and Pat evans (reporter) will call all the action. The pre-game show will begin at 3 p.m. and there will be a 45-minute post-game show.
