Phil Vassar will give a free concert at Paperfest in July

KIMBERLY – Country music superstar Phil Vassar will perform a free concert on July 15, 2022 during Paperfest at Sunset Park in Kimberly.

Vassar’s concert is presented by Y100 and Duke FM, according to a press release.

Paperfest announced earlier that Vic Ferrari’s farewell tour will be part of the music festival.

The hammer-piano powerhouse brings its energizing Piano Bar Tour to the Fox Cities filled with hits like “Just Another Day in Paradise,” “In a Real Love,” “Carlene,” and summer anthem “Six Pack Summer.” .

Vassar is a multi-award-winning country singer-songwriter with 10 No. 1 singles and 27 Top 40 hits. Vassar was
racking up radio hits long before he began his own recording career which saw the release of six albums, two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year trophies, ACM’s Best New Male Vocalist and sold-out shows across the country.

Vassar’s songwriting career blossomed in the mid-90s when he landed a publishing deal with EMI and wrote hits for Collin Raye (“Little Red Rodeo”), Alan Jackson (” Right on the Money”), Tim McGraw (“My Next Thirty Years”, “For a Little While”), Jo Dee Messina (“Bye, Bye”, “I’m Alright”) and Blackhawk (“Postmarked Birmingham”) He signed his own recording contract with Arista in 1998 and was named ASCAP’s Country Songwriter of the Year in 1999.

Vassar will headline the Paperfest Event Production Systems stage on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 9:30 p.m. The free concert is sponsored by Brew Pub Pizza.

Live music begins at 5 p.m. with supporting acts to be announced closer to the event.

Paperfest presented by Community First Credit Union returns to Sunset Park in Kimberly July 14-17, 2022.

The 34th annual free-entry event features three stages of great live music, balloon glows, carnival rides, food trucks, sporting events, car show, family fun and more.

The music is great and the beer is cold – the best part is that proceeds from Paperfest go back to the community through various Fox Valley nonprofits.
