“Cinderella” Musical to Enchant Viewers at Paramount Theater


AURORA, IL – The beloved musical “Cinderella” will soon debut at the Paramount Theater in Aurora. The public will be able to discover a reinvention of the classic work from November 10 to January 9.

“The pumpkins will turn into horse-drawn carriages, right in front of your eyes,” read a press release on the show. “Jaws will drop as the tattered rags magically turn into a beautiful dress. By the end of the show, young and old will wish that the fairy godmothers and glass slippers weren’t just for fairy tales.”

Directed and choreographed by Brenda Didier, “Cinderella” will feature Mikayla Renfrow as the titular princess. The actress is a graduate of the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and most recently played the role of Alice in The MUNY’s production of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. The Paramount play will mark its theatrical debut in Chicago.

Based on the French fairy tale by Charles Perrault, the script for the Paramount production of “Cinderella” has been “modernized to appeal to contemporary audiences by updating its themes, including rewriting its main character into a strong heroine”, according to the press release. . The show has been compared to the fantasy romantic comedy “Enchanted”.

Distinguishing the show from others, two paid screenings will allow guests to purchase tickets at the theater box office – located at 23 E. Galena Boulevard – starting at 10 a.m. on November 10 and 13. for these performances, starting at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, will be limited to four per person.

Guests of the show will need to present full proof of vaccination in order to attend. A negative COVID-19 test will be accepted for people with medical accommodation, religious beliefs or children under 12.
